Simplifying Device Repairs for K-12 Districts
Managing device repairs at scale is one of the biggest challenges for school technology teams.
In 1:1 programs, broken screens, battery failures, and accidental damage are inevitable. At the same time, IT departments must balance limited staff, tight budgets, and the daily demands of supporting classrooms.
Without an efficient repair process, districts often face:
- Devices sitting unused in tech closets
- IT teams overwhelmed with repairs
- Time-consuming parts sourcing
- Higher costs from replacing devices too early
Secured Tech helps districts simplify device repairs with fast turnaround times, flexible repair options, and tools designed specifically for K-12 technology teams.
How Districts Use Our Repair Services
Secured Tech offers several repair solutions designed to support school districts' needs.
Mail-In Device Repairs
- Secured Tech provides fast, reliable mail-in repairs for student and staff devices.
Technology teams can submit repairs through our repair portal, ship the device using a provided prepaid label, and our technicians handle the rest.
Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)
- For districts that want predictable repair costs, Secured Tech offers Accidental Damage Protection plans.
ADP coverage helps eliminate unexpected repair expenses while ensuring devices are repaired quickly and returned ready for the classroom.
- Optional Add-On Services to Our ADP Plans
Opt-In ADP
- With Opt-in ADP, guardians can purchase protection for student devices through a custom enrollment portal.
Guardians make a one-time payment for coverage against accidental damage, while Secured Tech manages enrollment and repairs—helping districts reduce repair costs and administrative burden.
Parts Closet ADP
- Some districts prefer to complete repairs in-house. Secured Tech’s Parts Closet ADP program supports these teams by providing an inventory of commonly used repair parts.
Districts receive an initial stock, report parts usage as repairs are completed, and Secured Tech handles restocking. This model allows districts to maintain control of repairs while simplifying parts sourcing and inventory management.

Frequently Asked Questions
What devices do you repair?
We repair a wide range of K-12 student and staff devices, including iPads, Chromebooks, and other common school-issued devices. Our technicians handle everything from cracked screens and battery replacements to liquid damage and internal component repairs, helping districts extend the life of their technology investments.
How long do repairs take?
Most repairs are completed in about 7–10 days after we receive the device. Turnaround times can vary depending on the time of year and overall repair volume, but our team works hard to process repairs as quickly as possible and minimize downtime for students and staff. We do everything we can to get devices back into students’ hands as quickly as possible.
Do You Offer Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)?
Yes. Our Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) plans cover accidental damage such as drops, spills, and other common incidents. ADP plans include no deductible and unlimited claims, with free shipping both ways for repairs.
What is microsoldering?
Microsoldering is an advanced repair technique used to fix small electronic components directly on a device’s logic board. This process allows technicians to repair internal circuits rather than replacing the entire board, which can reduce costs and save devices that might otherwise be considered unrepairable.
Do you offer parts-only for in-house repairs?
Yes. For districts that prefer to perform repairs internally, we offer parts sourcing services. This eliminates the time and effort required to find compatible components. Parts orders typically have a 10–14 day lead time from suppliers, and a minimum order quantity may apply.
Can You Support Both Outsourced and In-House Repair Models?
Absolutely. Districts can choose the repair strategy that works best for them. Options include fully outsourced mail-in repairs, in-house repairs with parts support, or a hybrid approach that combines both.
Is there a warranty on repairs?
Yes. All repairs include a 90-day warranty covering parts and labor. After the initial 90 days, the same repair is covered with 50% lifetime coverage, giving districts long-term confidence in the quality of our work.
How do we ship devices?
Shipping devices for repair is quick and simple. Start by submitting a repair request through the Secured Tech repair portal. After your request is submitted, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label on the next processing day (Monday or Thursday). Once you receive the label, pack the device, attach it to the box, and ship it to our repair facility.
When the repair is complete, we’ll ship the device back to you and provide tracking, with delivery typically arriving within 1–2 business days after shipment.
