Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)

Richmond Community Schools have partnered with Secured Tech to offer Accidental Damage Protection for your student-issued device(s).

ADP protects you from out of pocket repair costs due to accidental damage and theft. Students who do not have Accidental Damage Protection may be responsible if their device is damaged from a drop, spill, or other covered incidents.

This protection will cover your student’s device(s) through July 31, 2026.

Coverage Details

DROPS

Resulting in cracked screens/broken internal parts

LIQUID

Spills, splashes, or full immersion

THEFT

Theft, robbery, or burglary of securely stored device (with police report)

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE

Not usual wear from device use

Exclusions: Intentional Damage, Chargers, Protective Cases, Headphones, Lost Devices

Students must adhere to their school’s acceptable usage policy for coverage to apply. For example, when protective cases are provided, they must be on the device at the time of damage for the coverage to apply.

Potential repair costs ranges.
These charges could be invoiced to students without coverage:

MacBook	$120 - $300
Windows Device	$100 - $300

These repair costs are subject to increase for the 2025-2026 school year and some breaks require more than one part to be repaired.
